University of Pennsylvania Wedgwood Plate produced for the school's bicentennial in 1940. The plate is titled "Forward Pass, Franklin Field" and was drawn by Benton M. Spruance (class of 1927). Made by Wedgwood, Etruria & Barlaston. Plate measures 10 3/8 inches in diameter. In very good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. An attractive image of early leather head football players competing at Franklin Field, Philadelphia.
