U.C. Berkeley Diamond Jubilee Wedgewood Plate 1953 in very good condition. The plate has head images of Howard, Lawson, Gilbreth and Derleth, Jr., influential professors at the school and an vignette of the Campanile.
Lillian Gilbreth might be called Berkeley's first industrial engineer and is considered the founder of the field of ergonomics. Andrew Lawson was a profesor of geology at Berkeley who was the first person to identify and name the San Andreas Fault. Charles Derleth Jr. was engineering professor involved in the design of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. John Galen Howard was supervising architec tof Berkeley in the early years. His most famous buildings are the Campanile, California Memorial Stadium, Sather Gate and the Hearst Greek Theatre.
The middle of the plate has a bear surrounded by the words California Alumni Association. 8 3/8 inches in diameter.
