University of Chicago Copeland Spode Dinner Plate, a view of Ryerson Laboratory, 1931. Crafted by Copeland, Spode in England with the appropriate seal on the rear of the plate. Spode has been making plates for over 250 years and they are of the highest quality. The plate is in very good condition and free of any chips, cracks or crazing. The edges of the plate are scalloped and around the center are images of Gothic arches and vignettes from the University of Chicago. The plates were produced in a limited edition in 1931 in "soft grey" and featured buildings with Gothic architecture from around the campus. Measures 10 1/2 inches in diameter. Images are bright and crisp.
